About Chef artisan Réjean Michaud

Réjean Michaud was born and raised in Saint-Basile N.-B. After four years as an emergency medical assistant at the Edmundston ambulance service, Mr. Michaud embarked on a new career as a police officer. He worked for a year in the N.-B. Road Patrol and in 1984 he joined the Edmundston Police Force where he completed his career in 2013. Mr. Michaud is well known in the community having worked with many organizations. Recently retired in 2013 Mr. Michaud who has always enjoyed cooking in his spare time has developed a real hobby with his spouse Diane with whom he is regularly cooking traditional recipes of the region including the ‘’Produits du Terroir’’ and thus became an ‘’Artisan Chef’’. Réjean started sharing his recipes on a Facebook page under 'Les Recettes de Pépére' for his friends but now this page holds more than 5600 members To everyone’s delight, Mr. Michaud now makes us enjoy these recipes while also adding new ones. Our tourists discover ancestral recipes of the region while for us it brings back childhood memories.
